Well that was the shortest month gone in the blink of an eye, and I am glad to report that Darren is rapidly becoming a valuable member of the GuardHome team. Since joining at the start of the year he is quickly learning all about our products and more importantly he is demonstrating that he understands how to deliver exceptional customer service. On top of all of this he makes fantastic celebration cakes – what a star!
On the business front, our accounts were completed during the month and despite unprecedented high levels of competition in all of our market sectors, we achieved year on year growth in turnover. Profits were down slightly but this was mainly due to the investment made in phase one of the refurbishment on the new offices. Further investment in the offices will start next month with phase two due to commence in the coming weeks, this will include extending and upgrading our CCTV coverage to Hi Definition.
Hi-Definition CCTV continues to be an area that is attracting much interest from residential and commercial clients. The advent of HD-SDI, as an alternative to Internet Protocol (IP) systems, allows us to offer upgrade paths to existing clients from their old analogue systems in a cost effective manner. Several clients have already taken advantage of this service, but as with any upgrade path, care must be taken that the existing infrastructure is capable of handling the much higher data rates.
