February 2014 was a bit of a mixed month really. After a period of sustained wet weather, where flooding seemed to be the biggest risk, the weather finally calmed down towards the end of the month and we had some truly delightful spring like days. I don’t remember any days of early morning ice scraping of the van windows, so is winter lurking around the corner? On the subject of flooding we have a wireless sensor that can notify you if you have water rising in places that are at risk!
On the business front it too was mixed, with fewer new installs than I would like, but this gave us the opportunity to concentrate on a number of new and very exciting developments. We are trialling a broadband only based intruder alarm system, which has no user controls! We are also exploring a number of system developments that will allow users to control their alarms via a smart phone interface, but the really important news was that work has started on our new offices.
This is phased project that will continue over the coming months with the intention of opening our new offices in July, just around the time when we celebrate 10 years in business! We want to ensure that all of the infrastructure is in place to achieve a seamless transfer from our current operating base to our new one so there is no disruption to the service we provide to our clients.
Our new employee Dave has now completed 7 months in post and he is progressing very well. One of the most pleasing aspects for me is how frequently I am told by my clients how friendly and helpful they find him. This ensures that the GuardHome ethos of award winning customer service is in safe hands for the future.
