‘The Part Night Light Program’ has been introduced by Essex council whereby street lights in some areas are turned off. The council insists the program will not lead to greater crime rates, however, the change can understandably leave people feeling vulnerable, particularly the elderly.
Over 70% of the 127,000 council-owned streetlights are operating part night lighting, with certain exceptions that meet the key criteria outlined below. Part night street lights are switched off between 1am and 5am, Tuesday to Sunday (midnight until 5am on Monday mornings). As if the long, cold winter nights weren’t already cause enough apprehension, the addition of part night lighting only compounds these fears. GuardHome not only offers flawless solutions but also peace of mind.
